Exploring the twists, turns and unexpected surprizes of the Indianapolis Museum of Art grounds (4000 Michigan Road, Indianapolis, IN 46208) is like stepping into the lush country estates of a Jane Austen novel.  Take a narrow path bordered by a sea of green hostas, cross the charming bridge over the bubbling stream and you find yourself in a secluded meadow.  It's the perfect place for any real-life Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy to exchange a few quiet words – or steal a kiss!

As you continue to wander the grounds, small wonders reveal themselves to the careful observer.  A statue nestled in a grove with a bench ready for quiet contemplation.  The slope of a lily filled pond begs for a picnic blanket, a bottle of wine and an afternoon of good conversation.  A rose-covered archway leads you to the formal gardens of the historic Lilly House mansion.  

 The IMA Grounds are free and open to the public every day from dawn until dusk.  For romance and serenity in the heart of Indianapolis, this expansive and elegant park can't be beat.
